Meet Mary Adams:
Recipient of The 32nd Elijah Straw Helping Hand Award
Mary Adams: Recipient of the 31nd Elijah Straw Helping Hand Award
The Elijah Straw Memorial Fund and the entire Straw Family were honored to present O'Hara Elementary School 5th grader Mary Adams with the 31nd Elijah Straw Helping Hand Award for her exceptional friendship, kindness towards others, overall good citizenship, and most of all, for embodying the core values ("Respect, Responsibility, Integrity") of O'Hara Elementary School. Mary received a certificate of merit and a Barnes & Noble gift card! The Fund will also be donating to the charity of Mary's choice an amount equal to the B&N gift card in Mary's name.
Mary's nominators, Mrs. Planz and Mrs. Barnett, have this to say about her:
Mary takes pride in her school and is willing to help anyone . . . the first to raise her hand to assist me with a task, help out a classmate, and other members of our O'Hara building community. She is especially kind to students who may be shy and may not have a lot of friends. Mary always does the right thing every day even when no one is watching. I have enjoyed watching her make O'Hara teachers proud every day!
Congratulations, Mary! We look forward to seeing what you pick up at Barnes & Noble!
