Recipient of The 17th Elijah Straw Helping Hand Award
Alex Lima: Recipient of the 17th Elijah Straw Helping Hand Award
The Elijah Straw Memorial Fund and the entire Straw Family were honored to present O'Hara Elementary School kindergartner Alex Lima with the seventeenth Elijah Straw Helping Hand Award for his exceptional friendship, kindness towards others, overall good citizenship, and most of all, for embodying the core values ("Respect, Responsibility, Integrity") of O'Hara Elementary School. Alex received a certificate of merit, a Barnes & Noble gift card, and a Pasquele's Pizzeria cerrtificate! The Fund will also be donating to the charity of Alex's choice an amount equal to his B&N gift card in Alex's name.
Alex's teachers had this to say: “Alex Lima is a very thoughtful and kind little boy. He has taken care of a new student who is from a different country. Alex easily became his friend, helper, teacher and guide. He is thoughtful and kind to all children, but especially those who need help. ”
We can't resist adding that Alex is our first kidergartner, and thus the youngest Helping Hand recipient thus far!
Way to go, Alex!
